When I am small
Some days - I think I’ve got it all planned out,
and I know just how to get from A to B.
I know what every body else should do,
in my illusion that it’s all about me.
Oh no here I go again. Tryin’ to do it on my own again. When will I learn?
When the pieces don’t fall into place,
and I know there’s nothing left that I can do.
My cup is overflowing with self doubt,
and my shattered pride is poured out before You.
Oh no here I go again. Tryin’ to do it on my own again. When will I learn?
(-CHORUS-)
Feeling no bigger than a grain of sand, like a pebble in the palm of a giant’s hand,
as everything around me starts to fall.
That’s when I come back to the cross, and I see past what I think I’ve lost.
and I can see the beauty of it all, when I am small.
Please, be patient with me Lord,
my stubborn human nature wants its way.
Give me, the strength to let myself be weak,
and silence when I need to have my say.
Oh no here I go again. Tryin’ to do it on my own again. When will I learn?
(-CHORUS-)
Feeling no bigger than a grain of sand, like a pebble in the palm of a giant’s hand,
as everything around me starts to fall.
That’s when I come back to the cross, and I see past what I think I’ve lost.
and I can see the beauty of it all, When I am small…..
I’m no bigger than a grain of sand, I’m a pebble in the palm of a giant’s hand,
And He will always be there when I fall.
That’s when He meets me at the cross, and I’m thankful for what I have lost.
Cause I can see the beauty of it all,
When I am small. When I am small. I am small.

Ya, sometimes I get too big for my britches and think I can control everything. Never really works, I wonder why?
