If She Only Knew

She wakes up in the morning, drags a comb across her hair
Her father says “Why bother, no one would take you anywhere”
So she bows her head to hide the tears, she thinks his words are true
But there’s so much more to her - if she only knew

CHORUS:
That there’s someone who is thinking of her morning, noon and night
Who sees her beauty and her promise, and he longs to hold her tight
He’d live for her, He’d die for her, there’s nothing he won’t do
She could have the greatest love …..if she only knew

She looks at her reflection in her plus size faded jeans
What she wouldn’t give to look like, one of those T.V. beauty queens
But she’ll never match the pages of the magazines she’s flippin’ through
She doesn’t need to look like that - If she only knew  (CHORUS)

She paints her face and nails and hopes that everything looks right
her skirt is high and her blouse is low and they fit a little tight
Maybe this time he will notice her and come to love her to
But it doesn’t work like that - if she only knew  (CHORUS)

Bridge:
If she knew her name is written on the palm of His scarred hand
Every single thing about her was so carefully planned
He’s counted every hair upon her head and loves her through and through
She’s a beautiful child of God - if she only knew

CHORUS:
That there’s someone who is thinking of her morning, noon and night
Who sees her beauty and her promise, and he longs to hold her tight
He’s lived for her, He’s died for her, there’s nothing he won’t do
And she has the greatest love……….if she only knew
